Band & Orchestra Spring Trip
2010 Spring Trip to Orlando, Florida was discussed. Trip participants will be leaving at 5pm on Wednesday, March 31 and return on Monday, April 5. This trip will be during the GBHS spring break and includes Easter Sunday. Students will not miss any school by traveling during spring break.
Total trip cost is projected at $600 per student (quad occupancy) and $650 per chaperon (double occupancy). It was determined that the first payment of $150 to reserve your students place on the trip needs to be made by November 19th, not December 1st as originally stated in order to make payment deadlines to the vendor. For your convenience, we have arranged a payment plan with 4 payments of $150.00 each.
Mr. McMahan has stated that this will be the last spring trip for the next four years (until 2014). With that in mind, we MUST have 35 confirmed students participating in this trip by December 15, 2009 or the trip will be canceled again. Your initial deposit will be refunded to you within 30 days of cancellation, minus any outstanding student fees. Students must be in good standing with their music fees to participate in this trip.
Students in concert band, orchestra, drumline, indoor colorguard, and jazz band will perform and compete with awards presented at Wet n' Wild park where students will enjoy dinner (included in cost). All students attending the trip will also march in the Universal Studios parade.
Students will enjoy two fun filled days at Universal Studios and/or Islands of Adventure amusement parks (park hopper pass included in price).
Two dinners and three full breakfast buffets are included. Students will be permitted to purchase food within the parks/surrounding areas for lunch. We are working on a third dinner for the last night of the trip and more information will be distributed when finalized.
Additional trip details will be distributed as they are finalized and we move closer to the trip date. Please keep in mind that fundraisers will be made available for students to raise funding to cover trip costs.
