2015-16 color guard

Indoor Color Guard is an extra curricular activity which continues building the skills of students interested in choreography, dance, and equipment. Tryouts are held in early December with the ensemble beginning rehearsals in January. Competitions are held on Saturdays throughout the second semester. The season finale includes a four-day competition trip to Wildwood, New Jersey where students compete in the All Chapter Championships, Weekend at Wildwood.

You know your in Color Guard when...

  1. You walk on step to all music you hear.
  2. You spin pencils/pens/mops/brooms/pool cues, etc.
  3. You're constantly involved in fund raisers.
  4. You know where every high school in your circuit is located.
  5. When you hear a song you've done a routine to you get ecstatic.
  6. You know how to wrap your own bandages.
  7. You have a permanent rifle bruise on your left and right thumbs.
  8. You can smile genuinely on command.
  9. You can catch anything thrown at you.
  10. You spend more time with the guard and band than you do with your family.
  11. You know the perfect spot for a toss in your favorite songs.
  12. Finals are a positive thing.
  13. You know that "one more time" never means one more time.
  14. You find yourself designing flags/uniforms/drill in your classes.
  15. The band room is your home away from home.
